Is it right to charge for comments?
![]()
The fact that you need to pay to comment is one of the most controversial aspects of Favor. Or is it?
In a way, creating a good comment in Favor is free/priceless. It’s just that on the border of “free” a small revolution happens :)
Make no mistake, everybody here thinks that a good comment deserves it’s own place in a web publication (i.e. blogpost). For a commenter to lose money by creating a great comment feels very wrong.
This is the reason why you can comment a comment - pay the “value” back. The only price that remains is the 10% provision which is mere cents when using the minimum Favor Value amount.
You can even emphasize the fact that you gladly pay back all Favor Value to all good comments.
After this, you never need to worry about spam again. In Favor there is no spam - Every message has a cost which turns spam into advertisements…
And most importantly, finally your readers can thank you. Truly thank you with something that is far more valuable than 5 star rating or a “like”. After all, not anybody has something to say, but even those might gladly give credit. -Return the Favor.
